In her new position, Denise is responsible for the daily management of both the Maple Street program as well as La Casa de Maria Inmaculada on Essex Street. Together, the two programs provide social support, daytime activities and skilled nursing services for more than 100 local elders. In addition, La Casa de Maria Inmaculada offers a bicultural/bilingual experience for participants and their families.
Denise says, “I was attracted to this position because of the excellent reputation of Mary Immaculate and the opportunity to work with local elders and their families. Maple Street and La Casa de Inmaculada adult day health programs are small and homey and have been serving the Greater Lawrence community for over 30 years. The staff clearly enjoys working with their clients to provide entertaining recreational activities in a safe, family-like setting.”
Prior to joining Mary Immaculate, Denise served as a resident care director for an assisted living facility that included services for residents with Alzheimer’s disease. She also has extensive clinical experience, serving as a registered nurse for 17 years in various capacities including as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, as a clinical nurse specialist for a medical device company and as a cardiac surgical nurse. She earned her RN from the University of Northern Colorado.
