Evening of Sharing and Caring Set for September 14

This year, Mary Immaculate Health/Care Service’s (MIHCS) premier fundraising and community networking event, the Evening of Sharing and Caring, will be held at the Andover Country Club on Tuesday, September 14. Festivities will include a special recognition of the Grey Nuns for their many years of service and the presentation of the prestigious St. Marguerite d’Youville Pilgrimage of Love Award to Gerald T. Mulligan, president and chief executive officer of River Bank.

Barbara E. Grant, president and chief executive officer of MIHCS, said, “The St. Marguerite d’Youville award itself is named for the founder of the Grey Nuns, Marguerite d’Youville. A few months ago, the last of the Grey Nuns retired from their employment at MI and have relocated to their community in Lexington. We will take the opportunity to honor the nearly 150 years of service this order has provided to the City of Lawrence at the Evening of Sharing and Caring.”

“In addition,” said Ms Grant, “Each year we honor a person or organization that leads the way in the journey of love and service, and gives far more to the community than they receive. This year, we are pleased to be able to recognize the many contributions Mr. Mulligan has made to our community.”

There have been numerous milestones in Mr. Mulligan’s illustrious career in the banking industry including past tenures as President of the Andover Bank and of First Mutual of Boston; as Chairman of the Board for Savings Bank Life Insurance Company; as a Massachusetts Commissioner of Banks; and as a Director for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston among others. Mr. Mulligan also is an outstanding supporter of the local community and advocate for others.

The Evening of Sharing and Caring is made possible through the generous support of members of the community including Unidine Corporation as Presenting Sponsor; and Thorbahn Associates, SBLI, and Callahan Heating and Air Conditioning as Event Sponsors, among others.
