Pilgrimage to Montreal

Ten MI staff members journeyed to Montreal this fall to visit the Sisters of Charity mission in Montreal. Coordinated by Kathy Callahan, Director of Mission, the weekend journey proved inspirational for all involved. Our staff brought men’s shoes with them to be refurbished for those in need. They also served at the soup kitchen and attended Mass with our beloved Grey Nuns.

The Sisters of Charity were founded by Marguerite d’ Youville in 1737. In 1868, five Grey Nuns came to Lawrence to operate a home for orphans and the sick associated with the local mills. This mission evolved into what we know today as Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services.

Joining Kathy Callahan on this
special pilgrimage were:
Joseph Lévesque, Wendy Marchard, Peg Hoffman, Sue Dow,
Leslie Bisognani, Nora Monroy, Debbie Vitulli, Terri Orsillo
and Kelly Nickerson.
Serving in the soup kitchen.
