Helen Brown Selected as Director of Nursing
Joins Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Team

Helen L. Brown of Malden has been chosen to serve as the Director of Nursing for the Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center, Inc. (MINRC).  In making this announcement, Barbara E. Grant, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services, said, “We are extremely pleased that Helen has decided to accept this leadership position. She has extensive clinical and managerial experience in diverse long term care settings and has excellent teaching skills.  We expect that both the staff and our residents will benefit from her knowledge and talents.”

As Director of Nursing, Brown will be responsible for all aspects of clinical oversight for more than 200 residents at the Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center and the 260 staff members who care for them. “This position requires compassion and a broad understanding of many issues related to top quality geriatric care and excellent people skills,” says Stewart Goff, MINRC Administrator.  “Helen brings all of this to MINRC, and is known as a great team player.”

Prior to joining Mary Immaculate, Brown served as Director of Nursing Services at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott.  She held a similar position at Sherrill House, a 196 bed nursing facility in Jamaica Plain as well as for Blueberry Hill Healthcare in Beverly and the Greenery Nursing Home in Brighton.  She has also served as a practice administrator for a medical practice in Brookline and a research nurse specializing in geriatric psychopharmacology.

Brown earned her registered nursing degree from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Emmanuel College in Boston.  She is a resident of Malden, MA.
